Meet Phil Collins’ First Wife, Andrea Bertorelli

Before her marriage to Phil, the Canadian-born retired actress wasn’t popular. However, her marriage to him ushered her into the limelight.

Andrea and Phil first crossed paths when they were just kids at the age of 11 at a drama class. They reconnected some years later and married at the age of 24.

The marriage lasted for a few years between 1975 and 1980 following an alleged marital affair.

Phil revealed his disappointment about his failed marriages in an autobiography he wrote in 2016 titled “Not Dead Yet”. However, Andrea criticized him for publishing ‘false’ statements about their failed marriage.

According to her, she has been at the center of media attention for years regarding her relationship with him; portraying her as a homewrecker, gold-digger, and a bad mother.  She took legal action against him for spreading false truths that damaged her image.

Phil and Andrea shared two children between them; Joely and Simon. Joely was Andrea’s daughter whom Phil adopted after their marriage. They later had Simon who just like his dad is a singer and a drummer.

She was born and raised in the United Kingdom but later moved to Canada after her mother’s second marriage following the death of her father when she 18. His death affected the continuation of her education at Camberwell School of Art.

Phil Collins’ Second Marriage to Jill Tavelman

The British drummer and singer married Jill Tavelman, the American actress, architect, and businesswoman. There are speculations that she runs her own antique shop in Hollywood.

Phil and Jill walked down the aisle in 1984. But sadly the marriage ended in 1996 after they filed for divorce in 1994. The marriage crashed due to Phil’s alleged affair with Lavinia Lang while on tour with Genesis in 1992.

Miss Lang who was his former drama school classmate was previously engaged to him,  but the whole thing came to a halt before walking down the aisle.

As part of the divorce settlement, he paid  £17 million to his ex-wife.

The two have a daughter named Lily Collins who is into acting. She is well-known for featuring in the role of Emily in Netflix’s romantic comedy Emily in Paris.

She has also featured in many other movies like The Blind Side, Tolkien, and Love, Rosie.

The actress has been open about her upbringing and how it has been difficult for her to deal with her father’s failed marriages. According to her, she couldn’t handle the pain and confusion that surrounds the divorces.

Phil Collins’ Third Marriage And Third Divorce To Orianne Cevey

Phil’s marriage to Orianne Cevey and divorce chronicled his journey as a man who married three times and also divorced three times. The sad reality is that this divorce caused him more in terms of cash. He paid £25 million in the divorce settlement to his ex-wife; becoming one of the expensive British celebrity divorce settlements in history.

She and Phil first came across each other when she was working as a translator for him during his tour of Switzerland in 1994. She started going out with him at the age of 21 and got engaged in 1997. Two years later, they tied the knots.

Reports emerged in 2006 that the couple filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the separation.

Prior to the divorce, Orianne was reported to have been involved with Investment banker Charles Fouad Mejjati. She immediately married him after her divorce with Phil was finalized.

She later rekindled her relationship with Phil after her divorce from Charles in 2016. Four years later, Phil file for eviction against her after he discovered she was married to another man.

The couple has two children between them. Their first child Nicholas Grev Austin was born in April 2001. Their second arrived on 1st December 2004 and named him Matthew Thomas Clemente.
